Cooper County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post a bond, or obtain official booking records. Use the government office that holds the record or custody information.

Official Cooper County Contacts

For a local booking record, records-custodian question, or a request for an existing record, start with the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office. The county does not publish a separate records-unit line, so call ahead to confirm the appropriate submission method before sending sensitive material or visiting.

Cooper County Sheriff’s Office
200 Main Street, Room 3
Boonville, MO 65233
Office: 660-882-2771
Email: sheriffsoffice@coopercountymo.gov
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; hours can vary, so call before a non-emergency visit.

Cooper County Detention Center
200 Main Street, Room 3
Boonville, MO 65233
Current custody and detention routing: 660-882-6985

A written Missouri Sunshine Law request should identify the existing record sought, the person’s name, an approximate date, and any known booking or case number. Section 610.023 requires the records custodian to act as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day, although a complex search or copy process can take longer. Ask for a fee estimate because the sheriff has not published a booking-photo fee schedule.

Choose the Right Record Holder

Cooper County uses different custodians for local detention, court proceedings, state custody, and federal or immigration custody. The right office depends on the person’s status, not simply on where an arrest occurred.

  • For a person currently in the county jail, use the official Cooper County Inmate Lookup and the detention line above.
  • For an underlying Cooper County booking or arrest record, contact the Sheriff’s Office and request the existing record from the appropriate custodian.
  • For a criminal case, hearing, bond entry, or disposition, use Missouri Case.net or the circuit clerk.
  • For circuit-court assistance, contact the Cooper County Circuit Court, 200 Main Street, Room 31, Boonville, MO 65233, 660-882-2232, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, probationer, or parolee, use the MODOC Offender Search and, when necessary, the MODOC contact route.
  • For federal custody, use the official BOP Inmate Locator; it is not a Cooper County jail roster.
  • For immigration custody, use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator, which is separate from county custody records.

Finding the County Path

The Cooper County booking and custody reference explains the difference between a current roster result, a historical booking record, a court case, and a state or federal custody search. Booking information reports an accusation, not a finding of guilt. Court records provide the later case disposition when one is public.
